WREATH CAKE WITH NOUGAT AND CHILI
Kransekage is an old, traditional cake and is especially good for festivities. For a New Year's toast with champagne and kransekage, and for a student party... Kransekage is always a guest. If you want a kransekage with a twist , the hot chili goes well with the sweet marzipan and nougat.
INGREDIENTS
1 kilogram of cake batter
400 grams of sugar
50 grams of honey
180 grams pasteurized egg whites
300 grams of nougat
1 tablespoon Morouga chili powder or chopped and dried Pasilla chili
HOW TO DO IT
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Mix the sponge cake mixture, sugar and acacia honey together until smooth. Beat in the egg whites a little at a time. Be careful not to form lumps.
Place the doughnut mixture in a piping bag and pipe the mixture into 3 x 5 centimeter bars on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place the nougat in a piping bag and warm it with your hands. Pipe a small strip of nougat on top of each doughnut.
Bake the croissants in the oven at 200 degrees for about 10 minutes, until golden. Remove the pastries from the oven and sprinkle chili powder or freshly chopped chili over them. Let the croissants cool on a rack at room temperature.
Then put the cakes in the freezer. Remove them from the freezer and let them come to room temperature 4 hours before serving.
